Im wishing...for my Holy Grail..

Hey guys sorry for the delay in updating this but Ive been busy with moving home but Im back on track now so here is my first update from my new home in Ireland hehe.

Now this pin is the one pin I have been after ever since I saw UP and started to collect pins and the pin is none other than the Kevin pin which is pinpics #70657.

This pin is limited edition of 300 and is a Disney Soda Fountian pin, and I found it to be a very hard pin to find and to trade for so Im glad I have this pin now in my collection.

The pin features Kevin stood up-right and looks just like he would do in the film. He is stood in front of leaves from Paradise Falls which he used in the film to help hide himself from the pack of dogs (Alpha, Beta and Gamma)

The pin is one of my favourites and despites its size, its such a lovley pin and one of the 4 pins kevin is featured on. The backing card it comes on is also quite nice as it resembles a page from Ellie's Adventure Book that we see during the film and it is quite a nice touch in my opinion and looks odd on its own but with the other pins from the set as well fits right at home on my UP pin board.

Now, for a new section for my blog I am going to ask people (if wanted to) to write me a review of one of their pins in a short paragraph with a picture of that pin and I shall put it on here for people to see as everyone has a favourite pin and would like to see other peoples opinions :)

The first person to do this for me is Aveen, and I asked her to review the New Snow White pin (pinpics #75932)
This beautiful Snow white Locket pin is the 4th LE 1250 release of the 'locket' collection from The Disney Store UK/Europe and what I believe is one of the most stunning. The front of the Mirror or 'locket' shows the famous poisen apple in a glittering red colour, on a yellow background and framed by red glittering roses and hearts. The attention to detail is wonderful and the colours all compliment each other. When opening the locket we can see a beautiful image of snow white in the reflection, wearing her traditional dress.
This is a great pin for anyones collection and an absolute must for all Snow White fans.
Thankyou Aveen for the review :) and if anyone wants to have there say on one of their pins then let me know.

Luck of the Irish...

Well its this time again and today I'm going to talk about the St. Patricks day Stitch pin (pinpics #68052) and it is LE 800. Now I had been new to pin trading and thanks to a fellow trader (Lindsay) explained to me the concept of Holy Grail pins and as soon as I saw this pin it became my very first Holy Grail. Which I got thanks to a trader on facebook.

Now onto looking at the pin. The pin features stitch dressed in a striped waist coat, coloured dark/light green as well as a green top hat and he looks soo cute in the outfit with his cheeky grin on his face, just makes him look the part of celebrating St. Patricks Day. As well witht he nice addition of the small 4-leaf clover on his waist coat which just adds to the fondness of St Paddys Day.

Stitch himself is pin-on-pin and is on top of a four-leaf clover which Disney have used the glittered paint for the clover which for me makes Stitch really stand out on the pin and I just love the use of the glitter on this pin and it makes it very unique for a UK only pin.

Over all, I am very pleased with this pin and it was the first pin I got to combine the love of stitch to the love of my life (who is irish lol) and it is a perfect fit together in a pin. And it was also the first pin that started me on the road to collecting Stitch Irish pins.

I shall be back in a few days time with another review of an old pin which was released a little before I started to collect pins..The Snow White Romance pin.

So until then, I hope you all enjoy the new review, and are having a Pin-tastic time.

Da-Da-Da-Danger lurks behind you...

Now I''ve been waiting to look at this pin since it got added to the coming son section and its the Ducktales pin (pinpics #74758) and is limited edition 750 and the first in a line of pins from Disney Cartoons.

The pin features Scrooge McDuck, with his nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie who are sat in a pile of coins which is reminiscent from the cartoon as well as from the title screen just before the start of the episode.

Now to start off the pin is gorgeous and anyone who likes Ducktales will be pleased to have this in their collection seeing as there are not that many pins around and it is nice to see that us UK pin traders do get some new designed pins from time to time and this one is a great addition.

The pile of coins is all the sparkly glitter and give it a nice touch and really brings the pin to life, especially with the darker shaded gold to resemble Scrooge throwing the coins in the air or so I think and it just brings back memories from the show and seeing how he loves all his money. As well as more darker shaded glitter gold behind Scrooge to show more money behind him.

The dangle is a very nice touch to the pin as it is shown as that Scrooge is holding a sack of his money which he always liked to do (wouldnt we all haha) the only down side to that is one of his nephews kind of gets blocked out which isnt a huge problem but shame as then we cant see all the characters at once, unless you move the money bag dangle out of the way.

Now for me, I really really like this pin and would make any 90's kid happy and remember the good old days of cartoons and not the rubbish the children get today. The picture does not do this pin justice so if you like it from the picture you will no doubt love it up close (and buy it!)

I am moving to Ireland soon so I will start reviewing my own pin collection while I await the new pins as they will have to be bought online so I hope you will all still come and read what I think and I think in the spirit of me moving I shall review the St Patricks Stitch Pin in a few days time.

Until next time. Happy Pin Trading everybody!

And the Cast Member is...

Well I had to wait a few days to make this post as I and like all the other UK pin traders will of been doing was searching for the New Cast Member pins that have been released in Disney Stores throughout the UK.

From my understanding and talking to Cast Members in Oldham, Manchester Arndale and Trafford centre stores is that each store only got 4 sets of pins. Now I have done a little math and worked out this (and its only speculation going off what the stores recieved).

There is curently 56 UK Disney Stores, each recieving 4 sets of pins so thats 20 pins per store (with me so far lol) now 56x20 = 1120 pins. Now to find out how many of each pin there is I divided 1120/5 = 224. Which means from my working out from the information from 3 stores (and assuming each store got the same amount (20 pins = 4 sets) is that There is only 224 of each pin.

Like I have said that was just me working out from the information I had been told and is only speculation and assumption but if that is the case then they are rarer than I thought they are and I hope you all think about it when looking for your own sets :) and good luck in your own search.

Now after the technical part is over, here is the fun part hehe. As I mentioned above there are 5 pins in the set, one pin for each Fab 5 character which are Mickey (#75465), Minnie (#75466), Goofy (#75467), Pluto (#75468) and Donald (#75469). And as you can see from the image, is that the pins are a resemblance of the actual name tags worn by the Cast Members in the Disney Stores we all know and love. Also the Stitch pin is added as this is how I am displaying mine when they go on my corkboard.

Each pin has the Disney Store logo at the top of the pin, as well as a silver Mickey head directly opposite at the bottom with the Name of the character in the middle of the pin with Walt E. Disney below the name. Which is a nice touch for the creator of Disney.

The side of each pin has a red line followed by red and silver stars and added within the stars is the noted Hidden Mickey symbol which is just an extra touch and a nice addition to each of the pins.

I for one love the set of the pins and I had such a fun time going from the three stores near me in search of the pins and on the way I found other LE's and older CM pins when I had missed out on the Name tag pin for that day. So I hope you all have as much fun as I did searching and lets see what other pins you will find on the lanyards in your store.

Thankyou for reading this post and I shall be back here again looking at the new Ducktales pin. So until then Thankyou all for reading and Enjoy.

Under the Sea..Under a tree..I wonder what the Pin today will be??

Hey everyone, well what can I say I have only done a few pin reviews and over 100 views in so little time, I am quite amazed I wasnt expecting for people to read it and enjoy it. So thankyou ever so much for taking your time to read my blog.

Well first of all I will look at the next pin in the Mirror/Locket series which is Ariel which is again limited edition 1250 and is pinpics #74757.

From first glance you can see the pin look great and it is. The symbol on this mirror is of a shell, which I think represents the shell that is used to capture Ariel's voice which the villain Ursula wears. The seaweed is an extra nice touch to the face of the pin and rounds it off rather nicely. Also the use of the glittered paint is again done beautifully.

Now when you open the pin, you see Ariel on a sparkly blue background which makes Ariel stand out quite well, and with a wreath of seaweed around the edges of the pin for extra detail makes it look like Ariel is peeping through the seaweed just like in the film.

The handle of the pin is another pink coloured shell which finishes the pin and completes it very nicely. This is a great pin on the whole and will be a great addtion to anyones Princess or Ariel collection.
Im loving the use of the sparkley coloured parts on these mirror/locket pins as they make them stand out so much more and I can not wait to see who we get for out next Princess Mirror/Locket pin.

Now Im going to look at another new release pin and it will be the Winnie the Pooh Family pin, which is pinpics #74538.

The pin features all the main characters - Winnie the pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet and Roo. This pin for me shouldnt be described as Family as it is missing Kanga, Owl and Rabbit which I think could of been added to this pin to make it more worth while.

There isnt much going on with this pin, Winnie the pooh is holding a jar of honey (he does like the honey) piglet looks happy, tigger is in the middle with his usual cheeky grin, Eeyore looks like he is happy and sad at the same time (at least on my pin he does). And finally we get to Roo, who is th only interesting aspect of this pin as he is pin-on-pin and is sitting on Tigger's arm while holding tiggers ear.

Its a nice pin but for me it is only that, If I was a winnie the pooh fan I would definatley have it in my collection but sadly Im not.
You can follow my blog on Facebook. You can find the relavent link to the right hand in the Useful link portion of my blog.

This pin has an Aurora around it.

Well here is another pin-view and kind of a special one as its the first one of 2010 and for the first pin-view of the new year, I am going to be looking at a surprise pin release which has popped up at some UK stores which is the Aurora Mirror Pin and this can be found as pinpics #75194.

Now to start off this pin is the same Limited Edition size as the Belle Mirror Pin and that is 1250 and is quite a nice addition to the series which is a nice surprise for anyone collecting this series of pins as you certainly will not be disappointed in the quality of this pin as it matches the high standard and beauty of the Belle pin I reviewed a week ago.

This front of this pin is beautifully coloured with glitterd purple paint which draws you into the pin to see the detail that has gone into the face of the pin. And as you can see the image on the front is different to the belle pin and is coloured a nice sparkly pink colour. This pin also has leaves either side of the centre image as well as the rose bud at the top of the pin. All in all the front of the pin looks very nice but what makes this pin perfect is what lies inside when the pin is opened.

Now once you open the pin you will see the stunning image of Aurora on a sparkly light pink background which makes her stand right away and is just done beautifully and again Disney has out done themselves with the detail that has gone into the inside of this pin as Aurora does simply look perfect, even more so than the Belle Pin if I am honest. As the colours on this pin all contribute to make this one very nice looking pin for any collector to have in his/her collection.

And finally and not the least I come to the handle of this awesome pin and for me what really makes this such a great pin to have is the fact that the handle of this pin is the head of Maleficent who is the villain in the film. The handle of this pin has been done in a dark purple which is also glittered and is very detailed which as much as Aurora stands out on this pin so does the handle as it is simply amazing. For me Disney took the Mirror concept and turned it on its head and made such a beautiful pin and I will say this is a much nicer and more detailed pin than the Belle pin and would make any collector happy to own this pin. For me this is my favorite out of the two released so far,

Well I hope you liked this pin-view of this gorgeous pin as I can say this is a must for any Sleeping Beauty/Aurora or even Maleficent collector as it does both characters justice and to have the main character and villain on the pin and both stand out in such a way is how disney says it...Magical.

This pin series is looking to be one of the best released in the UK as it just keeps getting better and better and once they are all put together they will look stunning in any collection.

Now for my next Pin-View I hope to review the Ariel Mirror pin or I will be back sooner if any of my trades come in the post hehe Thankyou for reading and hope to see you back for my next post.

Pin-View #3 from UP high...

Today is going to be a little different as since there is no new pins released till the 8th January, I thought I would take a look at the UP 3-pin set.

This pin set was available only as a pre-order item you got free for pre-ordering UP on dvd of disneyshopping.com. The pin set is not limited edition but I would say limited release even though the back of the pins dont say so as seeing it was while stocks last to me they are limited release pins.

You can find the set on pinpics as #72426

I think I am going to look at the Carl Fredrickson pin first of all, which is oinpics #73660. Now I have had a look at all the other UP pins as I am a collector of these and all the pins that feature Mr. Fredrickson are all in the same pose on each pin. But saying that I really like this pin as it is the only one I have of Carl Fredrickson and I really like it despite the pin being quite small but still there is lots of character in the pin and is a great addition to my UP collection.

Next I will look at the Russell pin which is pinpics #73662, the same goes for Russell pin that the same design has been used on other UP pins that have been released but again I like the fact that the design works on its own so well as much as it does on other pins with other main characters. The pin sees Russell in his Wilderness Explorer outfit we see him wearing throughout the film and has him saluting as well. Due to the small size of the pin, obviously they could not add all the detail onto this pin like his badges etc etc but what I do like is the fact you still can see the wilderness explorer emblem on his shirt which is a very nice touch I think to bring the small pin to life.

Now the pin I think everyone wants to see and is a fan-favourite from the film, is Dug which is pinpic #73661. Now there is not that much going on with this pin and is the least detailed out of the three pins in the set BUT becuase it is Dug it is my favourite one of the three, as just brings the film into my mind everytime I see the pin and is one of my best UP pins in my collection.

I guess what the Dug pin shows us is that not every pin we buy has to be the biggest, bestest pin in the world to be one of your all time favorite pins.

The pin set can not be complete without its backing card and the card for this set features Russell in the bottom right hand corner with the jungle around him, with a backdrop of Paradise Falls which is really a nice touch and really makes this set a must have for any UP collection. Now as anyone who knows me personally the only other pin that could of truly of made this set perfect would of been a Kevin pin (I could not do a UP pin-view without mentioning Kevn)

Now I have decided I will do a pin-view every 3-5 days depending on how busy I am so stay tuned and I hope you all enjoyed my review from a few pins from my own collection.
