Pin-View #3 from UP high...

Today is going to be a little different as since there is no new pins released till the 8th January, I thought I would take a look at the UP 3-pin set.

This pin set was available only as a pre-order item you got free for pre-ordering UP on dvd of disneyshopping.com. The pin set is not limited edition but I would say limited release even though the back of the pins dont say so as seeing it was while stocks last to me they are limited release pins.

You can find the set on pinpics as #72426

I think I am going to look at the Carl Fredrickson pin first of all, which is oinpics #73660. Now I have had a look at all the other UP pins as I am a collector of these and all the pins that feature Mr. Fredrickson are all in the same pose on each pin. But saying that I really like this pin as it is the only one I have of Carl Fredrickson and I really like it despite the pin being quite small but still there is lots of character in the pin and is a great addition to my UP collection.

Next I will look at the Russell pin which is pinpics #73662, the same goes for Russell pin that the same design has been used on other UP pins that have been released but again I like the fact that the design works on its own so well as much as it does on other pins with other main characters. The pin sees Russell in his Wilderness Explorer outfit we see him wearing throughout the film and has him saluting as well. Due to the small size of the pin, obviously they could not add all the detail onto this pin like his badges etc etc but what I do like is the fact you still can see the wilderness explorer emblem on his shirt which is a very nice touch I think to bring the small pin to life.

Now the pin I think everyone wants to see and is a fan-favourite from the film, is Dug which is pinpic #73661. Now there is not that much going on with this pin and is the least detailed out of the three pins in the set BUT becuase it is Dug it is my favourite one of the three, as just brings the film into my mind everytime I see the pin and is one of my best UP pins in my collection.

I guess what the Dug pin shows us is that not every pin we buy has to be the biggest, bestest pin in the world to be one of your all time favorite pins.

The pin set can not be complete without its backing card and the card for this set features Russell in the bottom right hand corner with the jungle around him, with a backdrop of Paradise Falls which is really a nice touch and really makes this set a must have for any UP collection. Now as anyone who knows me personally the only other pin that could of truly of made this set perfect would of been a Kevin pin (I could not do a UP pin-view without mentioning Kevn)

Now I have decided I will do a pin-view every 3-5 days depending on how busy I am so stay tuned and I hope you all enjoyed my review from a few pins from my own collection.

Merry Christmas everyone! Here is a gift..

I hope everyone is having a great christmas and if your not here is a little something to brighten your day, its the Pin-View #2.

Up for pin-view today are the Jasmine/Rajah pinpics #74537, and the Fab 5 pin which is pinpics #74536.

Jasmine/Rajah

Now, this pin I was excited to see how it turned out as it is the first time we have got a Jasmine pin for pin trading and when I picked it up I was pleasently surprised at how big the pin is, as I wasnt expecting it to be the size it is, and is definatley worth the price tag of £5 for any Aladdin or Princess Jasmine pin collectors out there.

The pin is the exact same as pinpics #37614 which is a shame in a way as I thought we got a new design which turns out we didnt BUT on the upside to that is that our pin looks alot better even though it is the same pin. Jasmine's outfit is made with the same sparkly glitter paint job with just makes Jamine stand out alot more from the pin and brings the trader to notice her first rather than her tiger, Rajah, which is also done beautifully and just complements Jasmine and so the pin is complete and perfect.

The pin as a whole is beautiful and is worthy of any collection even as a stand alone pin as it would easily stand out and shine through any corkboard it would be one regardless of what surroounds the pin as even though its a repeat, Disney made this pin alot better and so gets 5/5 from me as its gorgeous.
Fab 5

Now onto the Fab5 pin, this has all the main 5 characters Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto on the pin. Now seeing as we have already gotten a FAB5 pin before now, I wasnt that excited to see this pin if Im being honest BUT looking at pinpics #68048 which was the first FAB5 we got, the new one is a whole lot better in my opinion. Why, you ask..I shall tell you.

Now, the reason why I think this pin is better is that inclusion of the word FAB5 as it seperates all the charcters apart from one another and so each and every one of them stands out on the pin itself but at the same time bringing them together as a group.

Again, Disney used the effect of the glitter paint for FAB5 and it is a wonderful effect and really makes the word POP out of the pin and without the glittered paint I think it wouldnt of stood out as much as it does with it so well done Disney.

BUT, my favourite aspect of the pin is good old Pluto, as he is pin on pin, which just makes him stand out even more than the rest of the pin as he is my favourite of the 5 characters on the pin, makes the pin even better for me.

Overall, both pins are beautiful and will be great additions to any pin collection and are worth the £5 and I hope you all have a Great Christmas and I shall be back with another Pin-View in a few days where I shall be reviewing the UP 3-pin set.

First Pin Review! or as I will call it Pin-View

I don't know if there are any blogs out there (other than the disneypincast) that focus' on the UK pin releases and I will be trying to review each new pin (depending on if I see it or not as I don't buy every pin haha)

OK for my First pin review I have chosen the Belle Mirror pin, which is pin #74362.

The pin is the first in the series of limited edition pins and is the size 1250. The pin is beautiful and from the pictures I have included you can see why, the definition in the front of the pin has been done beautifully from the pattern in the middle of the face of the mirror to the rose symbol at the top of the pin, and it just a perfect little sign for a beauty and the beast pin.

Now, when you open the pin you first notice the gorgeous image of belle, which has been designed to capture the beauty of Belle and they have done a marvelous job to do so, as she looks stunning, and the pin is topped off with more amazing definition that suites the pin down to the last detail. The thing for me (even though I got the pin to trade) is the open rose bud, as that for me captures the essence of the film within the pin.

Last but not least the decoration on the handle outside (and in) is beautiful and what complements and make the pin even more eye catching is the use of glitter within the paint of the pin which just gives it the extra sparkle to make it a very nice and worthwhile pin for any beauty and the beast collector or for any pin collector all together.

Now, I hope you all enjoyed reading my first Pin-View and I hope to have more reviews in the coming months with all the new pins being released.

The next Pin-View will be the Ariel Mirror Pin so if you would like to read it, then please follow the blog.
